If you start playing from the note G, and play eight notes, that is the scale of G major.


             G               A               B              C               D               E                F sharp    G
 Click the play arrow twice.

At the beginning of this, you will see the key signature with one sharp, indicating that in this piece of music all the F notes are sharps. Instead of the white note F, you play the black note F sharp.

On this keyboard, the F sharps are indicated. The F sharp is just to the right of the note F.

                                                                          

So the scale of G goes G, A, B, C, D, E, F sharp, G.
