The scale of F major is F, G, A, B flat (b) C, D, E, F.
Step, step, half-step (A to B flat), step, step, step,
half-step (E to F).
The black notes can be called sharps or
flats.
It depends what key the music is in. An A sharp is the same black
key as B flat. An F sharp is the same black key as G flat.
