Every scale is constructed in the same way.

C  D E  F  G A B C
C scale. C, D, E, F, G, A, B, C.
From the note C to the note D - there is a black key in between -
(C sharp). C to D is called a STEP.
From the note D to the note E - there is a black key in between - (D sharp). STEP
From the note E to the note F - there is no black key in between.
E to F is called a HALF-STEP
From the note F to the note G - there is a black key in between - (F sharp). STEP
From the note G to the note A - there is a black key in between - (G sharp). STEP
From the note A to the note B - there is a black key in between - (A sharp). STEP
From the note B to the note C - there is no black key in between - HALF-STEP

So the scale is constructed:
Step, step, half-step, step, step, step, half-step.

All major scales are constructed in the same way.
