The Minor Scale
There are two types of minor scale. They are called
MELODIC MINOR or HARMONIC MINOR.
This is the melodic minor scale in the key of A minor.
Relative major is C major.
Note that there is an F sharp and a G sharp going up the scale.
Going down the scale there is not F sharp or G sharp.
The third note in this scale is a C natural. (This is the
start of its relative major of C major).
The 6th and 7th notes are raised one half-step going up. The
6th and 7th notes are
lowered going down.
